Job Description
Solidus is searching for an Embedded Systems Engineer.

Software and embedded systems engineer is needed to architect, design, develop, and maintain complex software, develop graphical user interfaces and data distribution architectures, and integrate and test custom systems in the laboratory and in the field.  The successful candidate will work with diverse hardware in support of the design of next-generation radar testbeds and will interface with technicians and subsystem engineers.
- US Citizen and Able to obtain a  Secret/Top Secret DoD Security Clearance.  An Active Secret/Top Secret Clearance desired.
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus five years minimum experience.  In lieu of a PhD, an MS in the above areas with a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience will be considered
- Experience with modern software development practices (e.g. spiral development), version control systems, debugging tools and coordination/collaboration tools
- Experience with software development within a Linux environment, network programming and parallel programming (multi-threading, synchronization, etc.)
- Strong competency with Windows and Linux
- Proficiency with C++ and object oriented design
- Candidate must have good organizational skills with the ability to complete assignments working independently and in a team environment
- Effective communication with colleagues, sponsors and other research sites

Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with radar, optical or telemetry sensors
- Experience with diverse hardware:  Xeon, Xeon Phi, GPU, Power8
- Experience with any of the following technologies:  embedded systems, real-time systems, CUDA, CMake, GNU autotools, Git, OpenMP, MPI, OpenACC, ZeroMQ, Nanomsg, Infiniband, RDMA, Cilk, multicore programming, network programming, Qt
- Experience with:
    - developing, distributed systems involving publish-subscribe Middleware, such as DDS
    - shell scripting
    - MATLAB, C, Python, Eclipse, RCP
    - real-time programming
    - basic data visualization and display toolkits and methodologies
- Desire and ability to participate in field testing which may involve travel
