Job Description
Solidus is searching for an Embedded Software Engineer.

Seeking motivated candidate who can work independently and as part of a small team designing and building novel laser communications system prototypes.  Job duties include: designing, writing, and modifying console user-applications for Linux OS; modifying and debugging device drivers for Linux OS.  Candidate should expect to work with Linux-based tools, developing on a Linux workstation for an embedded target also running Linux.
- US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Physics with 5 or more years of Embedded Software Experience
- Must have mastery of C programming language.
- Must demonstrate understanding of at least one System-on-Silicon (SoC) hardware architecture (AM3517 or other). 
- Must be able to read and understand hardware device data sheets.
- Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team during unit-test and system integration.
- Candidate should feel comfortable referencing hardware schematics.
- Candidate should be willing to modify existing C code when required, without re-inventing the wheel.
- Candidate should feel comfortable seeking out appropriate people when questions arise.
- Must be familiar with Linux kernels, device drivers, and console applications.
- Candidates knowledgeable of at least once source code version control system (preferably Subversion)
