Job Description
 
Solidus is searching for a test engineer with strong, practical knowledge in the entire software development life cycle, including architecture, design, implementation, documentation, and testing. 

The successful candidate will join a group that is tasked with creating and transitioning advanced technologies for ensuring the security and resiliency of next-generation mission-critical systems. The group's research and development (R&D) in this area focus on a wide range of systems from drones and satellites, to handheld devices and miniature sensors, to high-performance secure cloud computing, to many others.

Work focuses on the design, prototyping, and testing of security subsystems for the next-generation military satellite communication (MILSATCOM) service, called Protected Anti-jam Tactical SATCOM (PATS). The group has created a sophisticated prototype key management system and a testbed environment to support an upcoming PATS field demonstration and subsequent program phases, which will include continued prototyping, testing, and tech transition. The candidate will assist in the implementation of PATS prototypes, creation of a PATS testbed and test plans, testing of PATS subsystems, as well as support of PATS test events.




Requirements:
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- PhD plus 5 years minimum experience,
- or an MS plus 8 years minimum experience
- or a BS in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering plus 12 years minimum experience

Must have the following skills:
- C/C++ and Python
- Database and network programming
- Knowledge of Linux and Unix platforms, and experience with practical cryptography functions (e.g., key management)
- Must be familiar with DoD and NSA policies and technologies related to communication security (COMSEC)
- Must have strong, practical knowledge in the entire software development life cycle, including architecture, design, implementation, documentation, and testing
- Must be experienced with formal test events

Additionally Desired:
- PATS program-specific knowledge, including requirements, design documentation, testing infrastructure, and experience with PATS testing is a strong plus
