Job Description
Solidus is looking for an engineer to design, development, and support programs utilizing technical experience in electronic systems hardware development with emphasis on power control/conversion to participate in defining, describing and implementing program deliverables/functionalities.  The candidate must have experience in Electronic Systems hardware development with special emphasis on power control/conversion, particularly high-power (~100 ampere) power supplies and/or power converters, and rechargeable battery technology for high-power applications.  Design techniques and parts technologies that are used for discrete power electronics designs such as buck/boost converters and laser pump diode current drivers. Need familiarity with the use of test equipment for power circuitry such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers and basic experience with power distribution design, wiring, cabling, and connector and harness systems that meet EMC requirements.

- Active DoD Secret clearance
- PhD + 5 years minimum experience, or MS plus 8 years minimum experience in Electrical Engineering. A BS with 10 years experience in Electrical Engineering will also be considered.
- Experience with power control ICs or general purpose micro-processors or FPGAs.
- Computer program familiarity with tools such as Matlab/Simulink for control design.
- Circuit simulation using tools such as PSpice.
- Architecting, programming and documenting real-time applications in C/C++
- Familiarity with Mentor Graphics schematic capture tools.
