Job Description
Solidus is searching for a Radar System Engineer.

The engineer will support existing and proposed radar designs and for post-collection data analysis to assess new radar algorithm performance.
 
Work Scope
- Domains: Radar system analysis, modeling and simulation support, performance prediction, algorithm design and implementation, collected data analysis, documentation and reporting
- Design, develop and support tools for radar design, radar data analysis, and radar performance modeling and simulation
- Support the definition, design and implementation of needed functionality to achieve sponsor objectives
- Evaluate potential radar design alternatives; prepare and brief evaluation results to internal, program and contractor audiences
Requirements:
- US Citizen and an Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
-  MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related field
- At least 8 years of applicable experience
- Experience with 
    - Analysis and simulation of advanced resource scheduling for surveillance radars
    - Radar System performance prediction analysis
    - Radar data analysis and processing
    - Algorithms for phase-only aperture weighting for beam broadening, range-Doppler image processing, atmospheric propagation, precipitation backscatter and digital beamforming
- Demonstrated proficiency in MATLAB and C/C++ with an emphasis on modular coding
- Development in Windows and Linux
 
Preferred Skills:
Experience with
    - Publish/subscribe messaging in realtime applications
    - Object oriented development
    - Current software engineering practices (e.g. Agile); modular software architecture development
    - Incremental test and integration, regression testing
- Ability to create and deliver technical PowerPoint presentations to technical and non-technical audiences
