A Sizewise Chief Human Resources Officer is an individual who will lead the team in maintaining a proactive and strategic approach while ensuring compliance to all related regulations established.  A Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for assisting with employee development nationwide; staying knowledgeable of area related trends; and enhancing the company internally and externally through all avenues. 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversee and is accountable for all activities of the HR department; provide overall leadership and guidance. Develop & execute HR strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization – succession planning, talent management, organizational and performance management, compensation, benefits, labor relations, workers compensation, unemployment, and retention. Plans, directs, implements and advises on company policy and human-capital related matters across all levels of the organization. Prepare and maintain HR budget.

  • Articulate HR needs and plans to the board of directors; ensuring effective HR practices and resources as well as alignment of HR policies, processes, procedures and initiatives with the strategic goals and objectives of the company. Provide expert advice and counsel to executive leadership regarding all human-capital related matter. Offer effective and insightful contribution to corporate strategy and operational development as a member of the corporate and senior leadership team. Develops and delivers presentations to corporate officers regarding HR policies and practices. Develop and implement HR plans and strategies that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision. Ensure the establishment of sound strategies across the HR department, making sure that all strategies correspond with the overall business objectives. 
  • Develops and implements HR policies to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws. Keep abreast of local and state legislation affecting HR practices and procedures, train management and monitor company policies accordingly to ensure compliance. Consults internal and external counsel to ensure that policies comply with employment related regulatory affairs. Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies or other departments in the organization. Maintains up to date knowledge of industry trends and employment related legislation. 
  • Plays an analytical role; monitors, analyses, and identifies strategic needs, gaps and risks. Lead the HR department in the analysis and evaluation of employee performance, identification of gaps, and creation of strategies from those analyses to cultivate talent and improve performance. Maintain the compensation programs to ensure regulatory compliance and competitive pay programs; analysis of wage and salary reports. Analyze trends in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and grievances to determine support or action needed to adjust unfavorable trends. Keeps up with the latest industry trends and best practices, ensuring optimal performance
  • Responsible for ensuring effective resolution of workplace disputes and conflicts through effective practices of conflict resolution and policy administration. Provide proactive employee relations guidance to resolve people issues and ensure the organization’s compliance. Provide counsel and assistance with terminations. Implement corrective action plans to solve organizational or departmental problems. Accomplish company and organizational mission by contributing to team effort and handling other duties as assigned to assist in the overall success of the company.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • Masters Degree with specialization in Business Management preferred;
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Senior level HR related role
  • PHR; SPHR; SHRM-CP; SHRM-SCP
  • Knowledgeable and proficient with HR information systems; ADP Workforce Now
  • Perceptive and intuitive – continually listening and observing with the knowledge of when to dig deeper into a situation
  • Desire to cultivate the company culture and ability to enhance existing and develop new HR strategies and programs that support and impact the company’s goals.
  • Experience in delivering innovative HR programs within a fast paced, evolving, and wide organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience advising and influencing executives, providing insights that lead to key decision making within the business.
  • Experience in policy formulating, development, and implementation of key HR strategies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen enabling them to effectively assess the internal business environment.
  • Ability to set and obtain goals; overcome obstacles.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results 
  • Knowledgeable of recruiting and legal aspects of hiring process as well as best practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels; verbal and written.
  • Has effective organizational skills. Keeps files and work area organized
  • Skilled at using database, spreadsheet, word-processing software, particularly those in Microsoft Office, to facility daily work and prepare reports.
  • Demonstrate skill, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing and public relations activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with all company levels.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, having an ability to analyze, refine, summarize,and clearly present data and information.
