Public Job Description

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Compile payroll data and input into ADP. Compile internal management reports from payroll system software. Compute and post wages and deductions or prepare pay checks
  • Review electronic time clock records and the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy. Contact various department supervisors for any missed time. Maintains employee confidence by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and complete research if necessary
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes department and organization mission by handling other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in related area or 2 or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years of ADP experience preferred
  • Speaks clearly and effectively in a variety of settings.
  • Familiarity with issues of compliance for state and federal regulations.
  • Is aware of federal and state regulations related to proper classification of employees
  • Skilled at using database, spreadsheet, word-processing software, particularly those in Microsoft Office, to facilitate daily work and prepare reports.
  • Ability to work with various levels of individuals across the company
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Knowledge of processing multi-state payroll
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Able to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated
  • Strong demonstrated organizational skills; multi-tasking
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
