Employee Relations and Leave Specialist

Looking for an Employee Relations and Leave Specialist with a strong background in employee relations, workers' compensation claims, and Federal, State regulations who can promote a positive workplace culture, supports regulatory compliance, mitigate organizational risk, and helps ensure consistent application of employment policies and practices throughout the organization. 


Job Responsibilities:

What you will do.

Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations concerns and workplace issues, investigate employee complaints, workplace concerns, policy violations, and employee misconduct allegations.

Administer all organizational leave programs, including: Family and Medical Leave, Personal Leave of Absence, Leave without Pay, Military Leave, Jury Duty leave, and other protected and non-protected leaves as applicable. 

Manage all workers' compensation claims from injury reporting through claim resolution, serve as liaison between employees, supervisors, medical providers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.

Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and organizational policies, maintain accurate employee records and case documentation.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA,ADA, HIPAA, and workers' compensation requirements.

Ability to conduct confidential workplace investigations and maintain objectivity.

Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

Additional Requirements:

Successful pre-employment medical screening (drug test & TB)

Level 2 Background screening through DCF & AHCA

Completion of all training including orientation.


Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, HealthCare Administration, or a related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience required.

Experience handling employee relations matters, leave administration, or workers' compensation strongly preferred.

Healthcare, behavioral health, hospital, or other regulated healthcare environment experience preferred. 

Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
