Immunization Consultant

Job Description

Job Summary:
This position provides consultative services and immunological subject matter expertise for a federal government contract with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), National Vaccine Program Office (NVPO).
• Part-Time, about 200 hours per calendar year
• Engaged under two year contract, Sept 2017-August 2019
Travel to 5 to 8 meetings per year

Minimum Requirements:
• Master’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university in Immunology, Public Health, or a related field
• At least 10 years of healthcare-related full-time work experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Proven skill, experience, and ability to provide technical assistance related to immunization
• Proven skill and experience in excellent oral and written communication; preferably through conduct of seminars, organizational meetings, presentations, participation on boards, white papers, articles, and the like.

Desired Qualifications:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO), or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
• Federal government contractor work experience with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), ideally with the National Vaccine Program Office (NVPO)
• Knowledge of or work experience with the National Adult Immunization Plan (NAIP)

• Provide subject matter expertise in adult immunization, vaccine development, and vaccine-related technologies to the implementation of the National Adult Immunization Plan (NAIP)
• Perform consultative services related to the creation and implementation of plans to engage regional adult immunization stakeholders
• Assist in the development of meeting agendas, flyers, and informational packets for meeting participants, to create region- and topic- specific immunization meeting materials
• Travel to on-site meetings (5-8 per year) to provide logistical and subject matter expertise and support
• Ensure performance of all technical tasks are in accordance with contract requirements and company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to timeliness and quality of deliverables
• Other duties as assigned


Abilities Required:
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel while typing at a computer keyboard.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, or lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The vision requirements include: close vision.
