Job Description

 

Certification Requirements: DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher prior to starting (reference http://iase.disa.mil/iawip/Pages/iabaseline.aspx for list of qualified certifications)

Position Description: The Systems Administrator for 7x24x365 classified operations will be designing, installing, configuring, securing, and maintaining operating systems for mission critical servers in support of classified Department of Defense programs.

Responsibilities

- Manage Enterprise RedHat Linux computing infrastructure

- Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems

- Provide support to IT systems including day to day operation, monitoring and problem resolutions for all of the client/server/storage/network devices

- Work with a team of service desk and system administrators

- Utilize remedy ticketing system for trouble management documentation

- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capability analysis and planning

- Research and recommend/assist in improving system performance

- Must be able to communicate effectively with remote customers

Basic Qualifications

- Master’s degree in technical field plus one (1) year of relative IT administration experience OR Bachelor's degree in technical field plus three (3) years of relative IT administration experience OR seven (7) years of relative IT administration experience in lieu of degree.

- Experience in Unix and/or Linux systems specifically

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability

- US Citizenship is required.

- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift in a 7x24x365 environment

Preferred Qualifications

- RedHat Linux system experience

- RHCSA, Netflow

- Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
