TEAM LEADER (s)– Residential Group Home in West Chester (Thornton), Malvern AND Coatesville PA


Brian’s House Inc is looking for a full time Team Leader to assist the Program Director in the daily operation of a residential group home(s) in West Chester, Malvern and Coatesville area PA. Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and directing staff and managing the welfare of mentally and/or physically disabled individuals. Work is performed under the direction of the Program Director. Team Leader will be required to perform both administrative and direct care duties and participate in beeper rotations. Must be willing to work one weekend and one weekday evening shift.

Examples of duties and responsibilities

  • Monitors all program documents; visitor logs, vehicle logs, client leave forms, behavior logs, incident reports, daily logs, monthly fire drills.
  • Schedule medical appointments & follow-up appointments & report findings to Program Nurse and Program Director
  • Ensuring that goal planning and resident programs are administered in accordance with IPP.
  • Ensure proper staffing ratios and finding staff coverage.
  • Attend IPP and other meetings concerning individuals.
  • Completing and submitting monthly reports on a timely basis.
  • Train and orient staff on program.
  • Coordinating and monitoring relevant information with the Program Director, Human Resources, and Training.
  • Carrying and monitoring a beeper, as required.
  • Communicating commendation/disciplinary issues to Program Director and other relevant office staff on-going and for yearly performance evaluations.

Required Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Knowledge of the practical aspects of the training and care of mentally disabled individuals.
  • Ability to implement written Individual Program Plans.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff.
  • Ability to manage the details of running a household.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Must be able to physically manage residents, lifting or restraining as necessary.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to read resident information, memos, etc.Write reports regarding staff and residents.Must be able to communicate verbally with staff and residents.

Job Qualifications:

Background Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least one year experience working directly with persons of mental disabilities.
  • Supervisory experience
