Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This position is a full-time position.  Sworn Tribal Police Officer enforce laws related to the protection of life and property of the Tribal members, Community members, and visitors of the Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria.  The Police Chief is responsible for leading the entire Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria Public Safety Department and carries all duties and functions of the department.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

Education/Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
  1.   Completion of a POST Police Academy within the past three years from an accredited California Public Safety Training Center of Possession of a Basic POST Certification.
  2.   Must be at least 21-years of age
  3.   Ability to pass a medical and psychological assessment
  4.   Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid card
  5.   Must possess a valid California Driver License and be insurable through the Tribe.
  6.   Must be professional, polite, and respectful towards all community members and guests.
  7.   Must be able to work extended hours when necessary.
  8.   Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact, and respect.
  9.   Minimum of 2-years supervisory experience within a Public Safety Department or similar department.
10.   High School GED

Preferred:
 1.   Experience working with the Native American community
 2.   Administration of Justice Degree and/or completed Administration of Justice college certification.
 3.   3-5 years supervisory experience.
