Assistant Vice President - Retail Banking

Major Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The primary accountability for this management position is to develop and coordinate enhanced and cost-effective operational and efficiency standards throughout the Bank while ensuring that effective policies and procedures are developed and implemented to provide a cost–effective process of control that complies with the Bank’s established policy and procedures.

 

Core Responsibilities Include:

Branch Administration & Controls

  • Monitors branch efficiency and effectiveness (operational as well as financial) results, analyze same and provide further guidance and assistance where necessary to achieve and exceed goals.

 

Customer Service

  • Oversight of the quality of customer service within the Branches and follow-up with the Branch Management to ensure the service levels are maintained.

 

Operational Effectiveness & Efficiency

  • The incumbent must have a sound knowledge of Bank-related work measurement standards and procedures that create a baseline requirement for measurement of Branch and operational effectiveness while driving results.

    

Staff Development

  • Responsible for the strategic planning of succession planning; coaching and development of operational leadership teams.
  • Ensures all operational staff are properly trained and programs are available for the continuous development of staff.

 

Project Development

  • Oversight and evaluation of projects affecting the Bank’s operations. Drives change process and ongoing review, analysis, and reporting for proper outcomes.

 

Policies & Procedures

  • Oversees the control of the Bank’s Operational Policy and Procedures making recommendations for proper alignment with strategic plans and current business needs.

 



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • At least 10 years' experience within a retail banking environment at a senior management level covering strategic operations and credit management and oversight.
  • Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution; or Professional related qualifications.
  •
